Overview

The Microcertificate in Healthcare Administration provides an opportunity for students to explore the core principles of healthcare administration in the United States, including healthcare finance, the ethics of healthcare, current health policy and law, the study of psychology and stress, and basic principles of decision making.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this microcertificate, students will be equipped to:

Admission Requirements

An online application must be submitted and accepted before a student begins their first course. All courses in the microcertificate must be completed or approved through ADP. Transfer credits are not permitted for this microcertificate.

Microcertificate in Healthcare Administration (3 credit hours)

The microcertificate is successfully finished when all microcertificate courses are completed with grades of C- or better and a certificate GPA of 2.0 or above.
This course is designed to provide students with a foundational knowledge and understanding of the core principles of healthcare administration. Topics include the history of healthcare in America, healthcare finance, the ethics of healthcare, and current health policy and law.
This course is designed to provide adult students with a foundational understanding of concepts of interest to leaders in all kinds of organizations. During this course, participants will explore the global context of leadership, and how the global environment influences the way we lead. Participants will gain insight into their own decision-making and communication styles, increasing self-awareness, and will apply what they learn about themselves to better understand decision making and their approaches to conflict.
This course will provide a brief overview and analysis of concepts in the field of mental health and psychology. An emphasis will be placed on a broad understanding of the field of mental health, career opportunities in the helping professions, and the basic tenets of the study of psychology and stress.
